Caribbean Style!
Scott needed a vacation, and so did I. He suggested we go on a cruise. We hurried and checked out places we wanted to go. We decided on the Caribbean. We asked my mom if she could come down and watch the kids while we were gone. After asking her, my brother Chris and his wife Sarah needed to get away too. We decided to take the kids to Utah since my mom and dad were going to be watching all 9 kids. We drove to Utah. That was an adventure in itself. 3 passengers sick, the whole way there. Every 15 minutes we pulled over on the side of the road. From Reno to Tooele there is a little DNA from someone in the family. It took us 15 hours to get there. Next time, if someone gets sick, I'm renting a hotel and waiting it out. That wasn't fun at all.
We caught a night flight from Salt Lake to Fort Lauderdale. Got to Miami Sat morning and boarded the ship about noon. Gave ourselves a little tour of the boat while waiting to get in our room.

I can predict never seeing our kids if we took them on this ship. They even had a teen room where parents weren't allowed.

Our 1st stop, St Maarten.
My awesome husband
I wonder if she can carry anymore?
On our tour, the guide took us up to some spots to get some good pictures of the island. We swam in this water down in the corner by the green roof.

While on our tour of the island our tour guide took us to the airport. Why? We had no clue. When he dropped us off he said, See you in 20 minutes. We walked over to where the crowd of people were and waited for the jet to fly over us. Well, the jet turned to fly away from us and we were behind the powerful engines. When they fired up and it started pulling away we were splattered with sand and tiny rocks. It was awful. Scott thought he was going to save me and put me behind him. When he grabbed me and picked me up the strength of the wind coming from the jet picked me up and threw me and I landed on my face in the sand. When I stood up to try to get out of the 'wind' I was blown into the water. It was the craziest, dumbest thing to do ever. BUT it was FUN! :) Scott lost one of his flip flops so he had to walk around with only one until we could find some others.

The 2nd stop: St Thomas
While here we snorkeled.
The fish photos didn't turn out that great. I am impressed with how well these pictures turned out being a disposable underwater camera.
After snorkeling we went on a tour of the island. I don't think these areas have driving laws. It was an adventure just riding in the car with these drivers.
A beach our driver took us too. It was beautiful. Clear water.
School of fish, about knee deep

An iguana came down from the trees to say hello and go for a swim

3rd stop: Nassau, Bahamas
While in the Bahamas we drove over to Atlantis. We spent a few a minutes on the beach but it was just to windy to enjoy. We walked through one of the wings of the Atlantis hotel. They had pools filled with different kinds of sea life.
I was about 2 feet away from this shark. If I spread the bushes apart I could have put my hand in the water.
These sting rays you could touch. They swam right up next to the edge.
These sea turtles were huge!
